Fast Five (2011) Gales Entertainment Scale (GES) Rating: HIGH-SEAS 9! >=O
TMG Favorite Character? Jack Sparrow... CAPTAIN Jack Sparrow - Passive Optimist & Calm-spirited Pirate

Four Years Later... A Pre-Pirate View! AR~GH! YEAH! XD

As pulling up into the crowded cinematic theatre parking lot but one thought graced my mind. "They mostly are all here to see Pirates!" Sea Pirates simply because pun is intended. ^_^ Pirates of The Caribbean 4: On Stranger Tides ironically has been released 4 years after World's End released in 2007. Just as ironic [I think] following Sucker Punch my first film viewed this year March 25th; Inception [finally] in April to be followed by a Fast Five PLUS two (^_^) for a super fantastic Mother's Day earlier in May--Pirates of Caribbean four is the 4th film I've viewed this year. Coincidence? What's That? O.O lol!

ANYWAYS this film does not disappoint. =3 Since it had been a while that I'd viewed this film and even when I viewed the films fresh the storyline remained entertaining but unclear to me--I decided to do a thing that I hardly ever do for video games, books, movies, anime or any form of "Readable Media:" I went back over the series. ^_^ Starting on May 17th, I viewed Pirates of The Caribbean 1: Curse of The Black Pearl (2003); on May the 18th POTC2: Dead Man's Chest (2005); on the 19th the nearly 3-hour long World's End and on the 20th--Pirates of The Caribbean 4: FOUR YEARS LATER--okay... On Stranger Tides it's called. =3 In 2008 I completed a track I simply titled "Caribbean Seas" and to be honest... it was the creating of the tribute video this year (This MONTH! O.O) from the previous tales of Pirates that honestly inspired my re-watch of the series. During the video mixing I kept wondering to myself, "Um... what happened at that part again? What's that?" SO! I reviewed the storylines and I'm glad I did. ^_^ POTC4 Tribute.

Times To Remember... As GRAND as [or GRANDER THAN!] The Movie! ^_^

At the cinema, I came across a rather peculiar circumstance. This Hum-V was COVERED in sticky notes. The windows could not even be seen and I kid you not--it looked like a "shell of letters" -- the letters each written on "memos" and "sticky notes." There had to be well over half-a-thousand of them. As I walked by the vehicle, I noticed there was a message on EACH and EVERY one. Some had only letters. Some were red. Some were green. Others were yellow. It REALLY looked interesting as the body of the street-legal armored jeep was pitch black.

Having arrived a bit just-about-late for the 8:00 PM show, I was informed by the kind and beautiful ticket girl that I had not yet missed the film as there were likely still 2 or 3 more previews playing. That's all I had reason to hear! ^_^ I received the tickets and bounded off and back to that Hum-V. *snap, snap, snap!* With my awesome camera on my cell phone, picture after picture was taken. That SAME young woman who had initially been taking pictures was also nearby and another young woman approached too. SEXY! She spoke. I listened. "You're not going get us in trouble are you?" She asked. "Nope!" I exclaimed.
I had absolutely NO idea what she was talking about. Then I looked at the Hum-V and the two young women and put two-and-two together. The dirty-blonde girl who was taking pictures suddenly began speaking about 200 miles per minute! "...Well-its-a-family-feud-and-he-started-it-with-them-and-there-was-this-tape-in-our-backyard-and-then-there-was..." I listened intently counting how many words her friend-or-sister had spoken--zero. "...and-he's-like-this-big-Home-Depot-guy-so..." suddenly the second young woman spoke, "Well we can't be seen or otherwise it won't work." "Byyyyeee!" The talkative one waived as she was virtually pulled off behind the parking lot island behind trees and bushes. Cute. ^_^

It was like friggin' Anime scene! XD

"So they don't know that the vehicle is covered!?" I called after the two. "Nah, uh!" The silent-brunette exclaimed as the two disappeared behind the tree surrounded by bushes on the parking lot island. Wow! As I took the last couple of photographs, I rushed to the front of the theatre and passed by an awesome couple who were walking and-in-hand as they viewed me make away from the scene. I point back over my shoulder and called out, "They said it's a family feud! Interesting isn't it?" I called out as I moved to the entrance of the theatre. "I know one thing--if I don't hurry up I'm going to miss this movie!" The two laughing ventured towards their car and I disappeared to the cinema entrance once more.

Once again, I noticed the woman and man dressed as pirates who looked to be promoting the movie I was going in to see. "Captain Jack Sparrow! How's it going man!?" I said enthusiastically. "Oh! Hey matey!" the man dressed as a pirate complete with swashbuckling boots, cap with vest and hat with a Jack-meets-England style accent. "Elizabeth Swan! How goes it? Or should I say turner?" I inquired to the young maiden dressed in red with play gun-powder/black dirt bestowed upon her neck and cleavage. "Well actually, we don't do Jack or Elizabeth." "Oh!" I responded. "Whom do I have the pleasure of meeting then today?" I inquired. "Well I'm Raven" the gorgeous maiden in red said with pride. "Well Raven" I said politely extending my hand. Our hands met and we shook as done with "Captain Pirate!" Such fun! ^_^ "May I take a picture?" I inquired. "Sure!" The two replied--and so was done! ^_^

"Nice meeting You!" I swiftly said after showing the two their image on the phone. "Likewise!" was the response and 'likewise' I rushed to receive my I-MAX thingies for the 8:00 PM show of Pirates of The Caribbean. =) The show actually was the 8:15 PM show because I walked in just as the lights dimmed. =3

The REAL DEAL! >=O
(The Film Review ^_^)

Action. Romance. Adventure. Captain Jack Sparrow kissing himself... well an imposter. It's all here.

To be honest, the opening of this film may remind one of the first Pirates of The Caribbean film (2003). Captain Jack Sparrow is taken into custody by the upper-class. Dirty and improvised citizens desire to see those worse off than them punished by death. Jack utilizes wit, courage(?), and over-the-top tactics with great doses of ad lib to escape circumstances that he sees as lacing his freedom. "I understand everything but that hat!" Haha. =) An escape is made--the freeing of Mr. Gibbs takes place and an adventure begins when Captain Jack Sparrow learns that his name is being used by another person. Some may or may not see what's coming. Jack kisses his imposter, makes up, and he's... a woman.

Huh? o.o Yup! ^_^ Jack's long-lost love... kind of. (not even ^^;)

I will certainly say that the level of romance that exits initially with Will Turner and Elizabeth Swan-turned
Turner is reinstated and amplified times two [at least] in this film. Not unwelcomed. Simply unexpected.
My regards certainly go to the creative team for this fine Walt Disney Production. =)

In under 2 hours and a half: a history is developed; relationships are forged; the sharing of the history developed and the stories forged spliced with elements and characters from our actuality in addition with elements of fantasy all in under two-hours-and-a-half is certainly no tiny feat! Add to this the telling of TWO love stories guided by relations that may prove at-odds with the typically mindset of an ideal romantic relationship. [for some at least! ^_^] The mermaid feasting scene may shift the cute-cuddly-and-caring view of characters like Ariel from Walt Disney's The Little Mermaid (1989) or Marine from Akazukin Chacha (1991). [Understatement o.o]

The allegorical fantasy adventure does indeed eventually arrive at the "Fountain of Youth." However, the intrinsic values that each person holds--as well as the cruel nature of those who are ruthless in the things which they wish to attain [Captain Blackbeard] versus those who do have the desire to be free but define what true freedom means and is for the self [Captain Jack Sparrow].

The level of romance in this release of Pirates of The Caribbean certainly is shared in copious amounts. From the literal "tear jerking" from a maiden of the sea [Mermaid] who shares feelings for a human [Aeriel's story retold with a more modern flair! XD] -- to a more steadfast relationship within the life of Captain Jack Sparrow who is often portrayed as a "hopeless free spirit" -- this pre-Summer film is sure to those who are "hopeful romantics." =) Ironically, I had seat between two groups of people during the viewing of this film. To my right was a man who appeared to be present with his younger sister. To my left was a very likely married man with his wife and two daughters. All around were "oohs!" and "ahs!" and "Oh my GOD(s)" and as the film was taken in via IMAX 3D. =3

As for the technical aspects of the film ["*yawn* I know right! XD] I personally have not ever seen a film at a cinema performed in a more memorable 3-D Experience. Often , when I view a film in theatre with the "Cool 3D Shades" I find it to be an experience not too far different from viewing without "Shades." However... from the close-pass of a blade that literally brought an audience member to ask aloud for all to hear, "Oh my god! What's that!?" [the scene where Captain Jack Sparrow was sneaking 'round corner towards Angelica holding his sword] to the awesome "side-effects" of viewing the sprinkling of the elements and heat of the action--I will certainly say I am VERY glad I viewed the 8-o-clock 3D showtime! In addition, the theatre was PACKED. I tell you looking at first to your left, then right, then behind you and back in front of you whilst surrounded by an audience-forming-a-sea-of-people all entitled to sing the hit 80s song: "I Wear My Sunglasses At Night" was SURELY a sight to behold! =O

For those of you who want a non-stop-all-fun adventure just before your summer starts [given you live Northern of the Equator's Hemisphere!] then Pirates of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides! Is the right film for YOU! =D
I almost viewed this film in group but will certainly say that whether you view this one for the sole-joy of following the excellent story of the Pirates of The Caribbean--or to simply share experience with a group of friends or a sweetheart--this film will ROCK! =D Although there are critics who are likely inclined to seek "Why the cup is half empty" -- this adventure is sure-to-be one of the greatest experiences to behold since twenty-years-past when Indiana Jones became a Raider of The Ark! (1981)

A Spring Should-See! Feel free to Listen To Me and view Pirates of The Caribbean one-plus-Three! =D
Enjoy riding the Horizon On Stranger Tides! ^_^
